In Bologna 11,000 people took part, including runners, supporters and volunteers, who all came together to raise funds for this great cause.
Fabbri 1905 is a keen supporter of Komen’s activities, which focus on fighting this terrible disease. The company was thrilled to sponsor the event, which was won by Tommaso Meriggi who ran the 5km route in 16 minutes 20 seconds. The women’s race was won by Flavia Aleotti (18’51’’) and the survivors’ race was won by Laura Turpini (24’19’’) as the fastest woman in a Pink T-shirt, for women who have survived breast cancer. A very fast time was also achieved by the wheelchair athlete Mauro Giusti who got round in just 19 minutes, with thanks to his friend Fulvio.
The true victory, however, can be shared by all the eleven thousand participants who ran, walked or strolled to support the sixth edition of the “Race For the Cure”, and everyone is looking forward to next year’s race on 29 September 2013.
