Little Amarenas Squares


230-250 g drained Fabbri Amarenas

225 g dark chocolate

3 egg

100 g butter

200 g sugar

100 g flour

Amarena syrup (drained from the Fabbri Amarenas you’ve used)

A couple of meringues

Little Amarenas Squares


Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it using a bain-marie.  Stir to ensure it has completely melted. Beat the eggs and sugar together in a bowl, and then sieve in the flour and stir into the mixture. Add the melted chocolate and stir well to form a smooth mixture. Add the drained Fabbri Amarenas (leave the syrup to one side for later) and stir well. Pour the mixture into a rectangular brownie pan lined with greaseproof paper and bake in a pre-heated oven at 220°C for about 25 minutes. When the dessert is cooked, leave to cool and then cut into little squares. Serve the little squares sprinkled with a bit of Amarena syrup and some coarsely chopped meringues.
